Young Theatre Makers
Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers (CYTM) is a youth theatre Fidget run in partnership with the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds.
Young people aged 10 – 18 who meet weekly to co-create original theatre with Fidget co-Artistic Director Ruth Cooper-Rowan.
Members of CYTM build drama skills and confidence by creating and performing original plays in the environment of a professionally run theatre. By developing innovative shows from conception through to performance, CYTM increase their knowledge of working in theatre and form a supportive group where their creativity is nurtured, and they are offered a genuine platform for their ideas.
Participants also have the opportunity to take part in the Bronze Arts Award, a qualificationthat supports young people to develop as artists and creative thinkers. It builds confidence,communication, and a deeper understanding of the arts.
