Emerging Theatre Maker Paid Intern, The Elf Adventure
Fidget Theatre are hiring an emerging creative to join the team this Christmas as a Paid Intern with responsibility for social media
A three week paid internship with Fidget Theatre during which time you will have the opportunity to;

Shadow Fidget Theatre Co Artistic Directors as they rehearse The Elf Adventure

Support the Creative team, including Designers and Stage Manager in their duties

Work with the Directors and Access Consultant to create access materials for the production

Work with the Directors and Actors to create social media content to promote the show
The ideal candidate will:

Be based in Leeds/ West Yorkshire
-
Have an interest in children's theatre
-
Have experience of content creation
Dates: 9th October - 27th October 2026 (Monday - Friday 10am- 5pm)
Fee: 3 weeks at £575 Total Fee £1725
This position is suitable for early career theatre makers, creatives and producers looking to spend time in a working rehearsal room. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants who are under represented in the arts.

400 Stories Artist Call Out (Deadline now passed)
We are seeking a visual artist with experience of working with primary school children to co-design and create an exhibition celebrating stories.
Inspired by the life of Maud Hummerston, Leeds’ first female Librarian, the exhibition will be co-created with children and installed in Leeds Central Library to accompany Fidget’s festive show The Elf Adventure.
The Artist role includes:

Planning an overview of the exhibition, alongside Fidget Artistic Directors

Running five making workshops with children in branch libraries over October half term
-
Collaborating with schools’ facilitators and videographer to incorporate outcomes from those artists’ workshops

Liaising with Library staff on installation of exhibit materials

Requirements:

Experience of co-creating work with children

An interest in Libraries and stories

An interest in heritage
Dates:

w/c 12thOctober: Presentation of plans in response to brief
-
w/c 26th October: 6 x 1hr workshop for children in Leeds branch libraries

w/c 9th November: Collating children’s exhibition materials and making

w/c 23rd November: Installation of exhibition materials
Fee:
£1945
(Equates to 7 days, planning, making and installing exhibition @ £175 and 6 half days @ £120 workshops)
